Giada De Laurentiis Is Leaving Food Network for Amazon After More than 20 Years
There are certain names that are synonymous with cooking shows. Martha Stewart, Ina Garten, Gordon Ramsay. These are the people who we instantly recognize and are likely to tune in no matter what the latest of their culinary concept shows may be. Another famous face of the last few decades that deserves a place on the list? Giada de Laurentiis. And now, she’s taking her career in an exciting new direction.
De Laurentiis has been on the Food Network for over 20 years, sharing everything from creative cheese boards to delicious takes on pasta, and is one of the most recognizable faces of their celebrity chef roster. That, however, is all about to change as she’s leaving the network for Amazon Studios, where she just signed a multi-year deal.
While it has not been revealed yet what exactly she is working on at Amazon, Deadline who broke the story shared that De Laurentiis will be both executive producing and starring in various content. This will include both cooking and lifestyle content, a familiar theme for the chef whose Food Network shows have ranged from culinary travel adventures in her native country of Italy to cooking at home with her family.
Worried about not being able to catch past episodes of her Food Network programs now that the switch is underway? Luckily, fans won’t have to rush to get everything on DVR immediately as the pre-existing programs will continue to stream on Food Network and Discovery+ for the foreseeable future. Any of her new content though will be found at her new home, Amazon Studios.
As a longtime fan of Giada’s many delicious pasta recipes, it’ll be interesting to see what new dishes she’ll be cooking up in this new journey.
