I’m a firm believer in the fact that everything is better with a little Funfetti. Cake, pie, fudge, even oatmeal — these items are instantly elevated by the addition of rainbow sprinkles. And now we can add cinnamon rolls to that list!

I mean, just looking at these rolls makes me incredibly happy. These would be such a welcome treat on the morning of someone’s birthday, of course, but you don’t even need a special reason to make them — just whipping up a batch will be cause for celebration.

The Funfetti element here is twofold: Not only are you greeted with a colorful explosion of pastel confetti sprinkles on top of the cream cheese frosting when you first look at the rolls, but you’re also surprised by an almost psychedelic tie-dye effect when you bite into them. This is thanks to mixing the sprinkles right into the dough; as the dough proofs, the sprinkles essentially dissolve into it, leaving you with that delightful rainbow effect.

While making cinnamon rolls from scratch requires more effort than a typical breakfast of, say, toast or cereal, it’s totally worth it for the joy it’ll bring to everyone’s morning.
