I’m Obsessed with This $13 Dish Scrubber and I Need Everyone to Know About It
Confession: I’m one of those weirdos who actually finds immense joy in washing dishes. When I’m standing at my sink, nothing in the world matters to me in that moment other than which dish I’m going to wash next. I think it’s a combination of the warm, sudsy water and the methodical scrubbing motions that send me into a peaceful, meditative state. It’s glorious.
The only problem with this unique form of self-care is that I have a hate/hate relationship with sponges. I find them to be one of the ickiest parts of a kitchen and could go the rest of my life without touching a single one and be very, very, very happy. Nevertheless, I have discovered a solution to my sponge-phobia (thanks to a suggestion from a fellow Kitchn staffer!) that I want everyone else to know about too: It’s this ingenious bamboo dish brush, which comes with its own ceramic soap dispenser.
This little guy has made my favorite kitchen chore even more enjoyable. (So imagine what it can do for people who hate doing the dishes!) The bamboo handle fits so comfortably in my hand and I’ve found that I can angle it every which way to get every crevice of oddly shaped things (like my blender blades and my whisk after particularly messy baking projects).
Its recycled plastic bristles are both sturdy and soft, making this brush a match for even the grimiest and crustiest plates, bowls, pots, and pans — without my having to worry about scratching anything.
The best part about this scrubber set, though, is the spring-loaded ceramic dish, which holds soap and water. This helps the brush get all sudsy with just a few single-handed presses, so you don’t even have to drop the dish you’re cleaning to get it soaped up.

Armed with this handy brush set, I can honestly say that I’ve ditched sponges altogether — and I couldn’t be happier. It also happens to look really nice on my countertop. An unforeseen bonus!
