If there’s one tip I could give to anyone looking to save money and eat well, it’s this: Keep your freezer stocked. Having readily available fruits and veggies, dinner shortcuts, meal prep helpers, and even dessert is absolutely key in making sure I keep my grocery budget in check — while also making sure I eat well. I love the freezer aisle so much that it’s actually my very first stop in any grocery store! (Yes, I just do the rest of my shopping quickly!)

For those in need of some chill inspiration, here’s what I’ve thrown in my cart — and freezer — lately. I highly recommend all of these things for your own freezer right now.

1. Bird’s Eye Oven Roasters Brussels Sprouts and Carrots

I love frozen veggies but don’t always have 45 minutes to wait for them to roast before I’m ready to eat. That’s where these frozen mixes of pre-roasted veggies come in handy! To prepare, simply reheat them in the oven for 25 minutes (which cuts the cooking time roughly in half). After cooking, I like to throw them on top of a bed of leafy greens in the summer or eat them with cooked grains in the winter.

2. Cascadian Farms Organic Powered by Plants Meals

This new blend of plant-based ingredients is full of flavor and nutritious ingredients. Cascadian Farms also makes a chickpea and carrot blend and another option with corn and beans. I like this one because the sweet potatoes and farro are loaded with fiber and natural sweetness and the black beans give it some extra protein and heartiness. Plus, this has several servings in one bag!

3. Dole Keto Berry Blend

I’m a huge fan of Dole’s frozen fruit and veggie blends, particularly this new Keto blend featuring avocado, raspberries, blueberries, and strawberries. I also like their other popular Berries ‘n’ Kale blend with kale, banana, blueberries, and strawberries. These blends aren’t only delicious, but make it easy to get an array of fruits and vegetables into your day (in the form of a smoothie!). Plus, you don’t have to worry about your produce going bad before you get to it.

4. So Delicious Dairy-Free Chocolate Cookies ‘n’ Cream

In my opinion, So Delicious frozen desserts taste just as good as regular ice cream. Yup, I said it! I’m a huge fan of this newer Chocolate Cookies ‘n’ Cream blend, made with a cashew milk base, which adds a ton of creaminess. It’s also vegan and gluten-free.

5. Wholly Veggie! Buffalo Cauliflower Wings

These frozen cauliflower bites are one of my favorite veggie appetizers. (Even my meat-loving family members love these wing-like bites.) The sauce is spicy yet sweet, but not too hot. I usually buy these in bulk at Costco, but have also found them in smaller packages at other supermarkets too.

6. Wyman’s Just Fruit & Banana Bites

Wyman’s makes a variety of frozen fruits that I always have on hand, but these cups (filled with straight-up frozen fruit, including Wyman’s wild blueberries, strawberries, and banana bites) are a nice way to mix it up. Some even compare these to the grown-up version of Dippin’ Dots

7. Yasso Greek Yogurt Vanilla Chocolate Crunch Bars

If you’re a fan of Yasso’s Greek yogurt bars, then you will love these new crunch bars. An outer shell made of dark chocolate and crunchy quinoa bits enrobes the classic fro-yo center. They kind of remind me of those Drumsticks I loved as a kid. These are a must-try if you’re a fan of Greek yogurt in its frozen form.

8. Dole Tropical Smoothie Blend

If there’s only one variety of Dole’s Crafted Smoothie Blends you’ll try, definitely buy this Tropical blend with dragonfruit. It’s not only filled with perfect flavors for summer, but it also makes a gorgeous pink hue when blended together. This bag comes with five servings inside, so it’ll get you through a full work week.

Purple Carrot recently released several new bowls that are full of flavor and plant-based goodness. Their new Maple Chipotle Bowl is one of my favorites. It’s made with mixed vegetables, tossed in a sweet and savory sauce, and contains 11 grams of plant-based protein.
