Drink connoisseurs have a unique burden in the kitchen. While there are plenty of perks to having a cold novelty drink on hand at all times, keeping lots of extra cans and bottles in the refrigerator takes up a lot of space — and it can result in clutter pretty quickly. This problem is even worse for anyone with less storage space, whether that’s due to a recent grocery run, a roommate situation, or a small fridge.

If you love drinks and your fridge is close quarters (or you’re just keen on finding new ways to organize your kitchen), listen up. To keep your cans and bottles contained to one area of the fridge — in a fancy pyramid, at that! — all you need is a binder clip (and, of course, a ready supply of your favorite beverages).

How to Use a Binder Clip to Organize Your Fridge

The first step to this ingenious hack: Grab a binder clip from your home office or the store (please, no stealing from your employer — a 12-pack is less than $5!). A larger size is probably better, so it can hold more weight, especially if you’re storing heavier glass bottles, but play around with things.

Next, make space on one of the shelves in your fridge, wherever you want to store all your drinks. Measure enough room for a few cans or bottles, then fasten the binder clip to the wire so the edge of a bottle can lean against the grip part of the clip. Now, stack away, forming a pyramid as you go!

There’s one caveat to this trick: You’ll need a wire shelf in your fridge. If you don’t have one, you can try buying a bonus shelf and putting it in your refrigerator (or, if you’re not absolutely dedicated to having cold drinks, you can put it in your pantry). Just make sure it’s sturdy enough to hold your drinks!

Now, you can store (and drink) your favorite beverages to your heart’s content!
