Flickr Find: Velvet Chocolate Cake with Prunes Soaked in Earl Grey Tea
Did you know it’s National Tea Month (as well as National Soup Month?) Who decides these things anyway? But it fits – January has been cold and rainy for us, and we have been enjoying our tea. We’d enjoy it even more when folded into a velvety chocolate cake like this one. Soaking fruit in tea brings out the flavor and, in this case, imparts a floral and herbal flavor.
Prunes and chocolate are both so rich they seem like an unnatural pairing – but they actually go very well together. Just have a glass of milk handy to counteract the sweetness, like with our Prune and Chocolate Chunk Cookies.
