Nothing gets me into a festive mood more than some fresh baked cookies. I love everything from the preparation to the smell they fill the house with, and I especially love when they’re cut into the shape of cute little gingerbread men.

No matter your preference though, there is a cookie out there for everyone and Eloise Head — known as @fitwaffle of @fitwafflekitchen — and her recipe for a 5-Ingredient Jammy Christmas Cookie may have created the new cookie for me. And as the cookbook author and content creator notes, they’re super-easy to make and depending on the size of your cookie cutter, you can expect this recipe to yield about eight cookies total.

To start, mix together salted butter, granulated sugar, and plain flour to form a dough. Roll the dough out on a flat surface and use the cookie cutter of your choice to cut the shapes of your cookies. Using a mini cookie cutter, cut a smaller shape out of half of the cookies, removing the excess dough before placing on a cookie sheet to bake for 10 minutes at 350°F.

Once removed and cooled, sprinkle the top with icing sugar and spread jam on the bases. If you’re interested in an alternative for jam, Eloise recommends trying Nutella, Biscoff spread, or even a lemon curd. She also encourages placing the cookies in the freezer while the oven heats up to ensure they keep their shape. Once you’ve put the two pieces together like a sandwich, all that’s left to do is enjoy!

If you’re anything like me and you now have a craving for cookies, these Salted Tahini Brownie Cookies Or these Chocolate Chip Red Bean Cookies are a must try.
