Finally! We’re Getting a Taco Emoji

Through text, Instagram, and Snapchat, Emojis are how we express ourselves. And for years, now, we’ve been deprived of expressing our love for the most important meal of them all – the taco. No taco emoji!

Well, no longer. Unicode has just introduced the taco emoji, alongside 36 new other emojis. Are you ready?

As you can see in the Google trends graph above, the taco emoji has been in huge demand for some time. Taco Bell even launched a Change.org campaign to petition for its addition to the emoji lexicon.

The release of Unicode 8 means 36 new emojis have been added, including a taco, burrito, and unicorn. While it may be a little more time until an iOS 10 or Android 5.3 upgrade, we can rest assured that the taco emoji is on its way.
