This past weekend, I took a trip to my hometown to celebrate both my mother’s and sister’s birthdays. On the way, my partner and I stopped at a nearby Dollar Tree to pick up birthday cards (they are $0.50 per card!) and a gift bag and colored tissue paper (it’s slightly more, at $1.25 for each, but still budget-friendly for gift wrap).

I am physically incapable of not doing a walk through the snack zone anytime I visit the Dollar Tree, and this time was no different. I snaked my way through the various aisles (chips, cookies, candy, etc.). The shelves were a bit emptier than I expected, but I did spot one standout bag of bite-sized crisps: Farmer’s Pantry Honey Butter Cornbread Crisps

I immediately snagged two (one for the car ride, and one for my family to share) and headed to the checkout area.

What’s So Great About Farmer’s Pantry Honey Butter Cornbread Crisps?

Roughly the size of scrabble tiles, these cornbread crisps are like the crisp edges of a honey-buttered slice of sweet cornbread — in snack form. Like cornbread, these crisps are made with a mix of flour and cornmeal and then baked into small squares. The first thing I noticed after sampling one was how delightful they are from a texture perspective. They’re envelope-level thin, so they crumble after a few bites and then … pow! The taste is toasty, slightly sweet, and cornbread-forward.

I poured the contents of one of the bags into a bowl (fancy, I know!) for everyone except my sister, who is allergic to corn, to sample. At $1.25, each two-ounce bag promises two servings, but we stretched it to four. Unsurprisingly, the crisps were a huge hit. My family’s one gripe? They wanted to know why I only picked up two bags. Ah, family.

These Farmer’s Pantry Cornbread Crisps are also available in Original and Jalapeño flavors, according to the company’s website. I didn’t spot them on my most recent trip. I will, however, keep an eye out next time I visit the Dollar Tree.
