Other highlights: All the classics are here, from fried squash blossoms and spaghetti puttanesca to porchetta and tiramisu! If just reading that makes your mouth water, I think you’re in for a treat. The photography in this book is also stunning. This, combined with the very personal feel that Gabriele and Debi bring to their writing, make these recipes really come alive. Each ones feels so fresh and vibrant and ready to snatch off the page.

Admittedly, if you already have a few favorite Italian cookbooks that you love, you might not find much new material here to plunder. But on the other hand, if you are into Italian food and want to start cooking it at home, Extra Virigin Kitchen feels like a great place to start.
