I’m no stranger to the frustrations that come from having zero counter space. My previous apartment’s kitchen had a countertop size of approximately one square foot, and that was it. For years, I never bought any appliances beyond my toaster and my coffee maker, and even those didn’t fit on the counter — I had to buy a shelving unit from IKEA. Needless to say, the situation was not ideal, but I ended up (mistakenly) accepting that there wasn’t much I could do about it.

That’s why I wish I came across West Elm’s Expandable Countertop Organizer sooner. With how many shelf risers I had in my cabinets, I have no idea why I didn’t consider that they could be made for countertops. Even though my new kitchen, thankfully, has at least four times more surface area than my old place, I still want to add this nifty find to my cart — creating more storage is always a good idea. If you’re of a similar mind, you’ll need to act fast, because only limited quantities are left! Keep reading for all of the details about this $38 organizer.

What is the Expandable Countertop Organizer?

Unlike most risers, this one can expand and contract, so it’ll work for any space. Fully contacted, it’s a little under 11 inches, and fully extended, it’s just under 18 inches. Despite its sleek, low profile frame that’ll blend right into your kitchen, the organizer’s made of a sturdy steel that supports up to 11 pounds. Height-wise, it’s six inches tall, so you can store plenty of items underneath it too. You can take your cue from West Elm and purchase a shallow basket to slide underneath it. There are tons of routes you can take — the basket can hold coffee pods, while the organizer keeps your coffee maker elevated, for one. It can hold your water bottle collection or extra dishes. I could go on, but you get the idea.
