Big difference, right?

My greasy oven door has always been a problem. It seems like it’s just one of those things that never gets fully clean no matter which products I try. I will admit I have not deep-cleaned my oven door in almost a year — let’s chalk this up to pandemic procrastination — so I figured it could finally use a good spring cleaning scrub.

I didn’t think any single product could possibly help restore my dirty oven door to its pre-pandemic glory, but it turns out one scrub got pretty close. And I found it it on Etsy, of all places!

First off, I have to say I’m very into trying hyped-up cleaning products — especially when they reach peak virality, which is how I found the popular, five-star rated Everneat Oven Scrub Natural Cleaner sold on Etsy. Yes, Etsy! While I don’t mind using harsher cleaners, I was excited to try an all-natural, plant-based product, and see how it’d stack up against my greasy and grimy oven door.

I did a little research to find out what was in the jar as soon as I received it. The main ingredients included pumice stone, coconuts, citric acid, and baking soda. It seemed promising, so I rolled up my sleeves and got to work to give it a try.

What’s Great About Everneat Oven Scrub Cleaner

Surprisingly, my favorite thing about this product is the scent — powered by peppermint, lemon, and eucalyptus essential oils. Unlike most cleaners, it truly smelled like an uplifting spa scrub that belonged on my skin instead of my oven. I also loved that it came with a heavy-duty, metallic scrubbing sponge, which definitely aided in getting the job done. Lastly, and most importantly, I was impressed that this natural scrub was able to get my oven door about 90 percent clean — which is saying a lot!

How To Use Everneat Oven Scrub Cleaner

My oven door was pretty greasy, so it took two scrubbings, lasting about a couple minutes each.

It's time to lather up and melt that grease off.

I used the scrub, accompanying scrubber, and a lot of pressure to get off most of the initial grime. But because my oven door was in such rough shape, I needed some extra tools to get it fully cleaned. I took out a plastic scraper tool to help with the really tough spots, such as the corners and the outer sections of the door. Then, I applied one last light layer of the scrub to clean off the scraped grease and followed up with a final wipe using a microfiber cloth. By the end, after plenty of elbow grease, my sparkling oven door looked almost unrecognizable!

A scraper tool helped with all of the baked-on bits.

Everneat’s Oven Scrub is definitely worth the hype, and even though I’ve learned my lesson to never let grease and grime build up so much on my oven door, I’ll still use it regularly to clean my oven’s interior. You know, whenever it’s dirty … and whenever I want that sweet aromatherapy.
