What if I told you that I’ve found a pie dish that’s so beautiful, it’ll make even your ugliest creations worthy of Instagram? (Like, in your feed — not hidden away in your stories.) You’d be interested, right? Well, I have!

It’s Emile Henry’s timeless Ruffled Pie Dish — a 10-inch ceramic beauty from a brand that has been making fantastic bakeware since 1850. Although my crust-making skills leave much to be desired in the way of aesthetics, anything I bring to the table in this dish looks incredible.

The ruffled edges help me cut consistent, well-portioned slices of chicken pot pie, quiche, key lime pie, pumpkin pie, apple pie — anything goes! I’ve also used mine for scalloped potatoes and a vegetable frittata, and to bake mac and cheese. I think I even served salad in it once. This is an all-around vessel for sure, so if you need to justify the purchase — either to yourself or perhaps to a spouse who may ask if you “really need” a fancy pie dish right now (not that I would know anything about that) — well, there you go.

Aside from its good looks, what I love about this dish (and my other Emile Henry bakeware) is how evenly the ceramic distributes heat. There are no soggy crusts and no cold spots in the center, and it keeps warm on the table, which is always nice when you’re serving something as comforting as pie. The dish is also microwave-, freezer-, and dishwasher-safe, if you’re so inclined. Throw in a 10-year warranty and I don’t even know why you’re still reading this and not already ordering one for yourself!

One more final thought to convince you: Fall is here and that means it’s the Official Baking Season. Pie in some form — hot, cold, sweet, savory — is probably on your autumnal menu, so you’ll definitely need something elegant for baking and serving. My work here is done.
