As much as I try to make myself drink tons of water every day, it’s not always easy. I’m sure we all know the health benefits of being fully hydrated, but to get all the way there, Penn Medicine says that you should drink “between half an ounce and an ounce of water for each pound you weigh, every day.” (So, if you weigh 200 pounds, you should drink 100 ounces of water if you aren’t doing anything too active). So yeah, not the easiest thing to do.

Some people’s strategy in recent years has been to cart around enormous (even gallon-sized) reusable bottles all the time. I’ll admit, as a 30-ounce Stanley tumbler owner, there is definitely something to getting the right container, but I have to admit that the flavorless taste can get old pretty quickly. Juice and soda are way too tempting, but there’s a way to get your H2O intake and jazz it up. Water enhancers and flavorings can totally transform your beverage without any unnatural chemicals or heaps of sugar being involved, and if you aren’t already on the enhancer train, we have five editor-approved recommendations to get you started.

Waterboy’s health-focused Weekend Recovery mix has become commerce managing editor Tamara’s go-to, replacing her old go-to hydration packet. “They're all natural, sugar free, and include good-for-you ingredients like L-theanine, raw ginger, and Vitamins B12 and C,” she said. “Plus, their flavors like Strawberry Lemonade and Blue Raspberry are delicious (but not overpowering).”

We had a whopping three team members say that Liquid IV is the ultimate water booster out there. Courtney, our creative studio senior writer, and Ian, our senior commerce editor, both sung the electrolyte supplement’s praises, and commerce SEO editor Sarah said she adds one to her water whenever she’s feeling rundown. After taking one before bed, she said, “I always wake up feeling refreshed! Also a must-have in the summer whenever I’m spending a lot of time outdoors!”

“I love the ginger lemonade Nuun,” said Marisa, our associate director of sales research and consumer insights. “Bonus points: It has caffeine, so it's perfect for early morning runs and hikes. As someone who isn't into sugary drinks, it's not super sweet and is perfectly refreshing.”

Marisa; executive director of brand activation, Janelle; and associate director of brand strategy and innovation, Susan are all fans of LMNT’s Electrolyte Powder Packets. “The flavored packs make drinking salt water way easier,” Susan said, adding that she opted for the “reliable” orange flavor. She advised to avoid the salty, flavorless option, but Marisa said that she does enjoy the flavlorless option once she puts a little lemon juice in it.

While this one isn’t necessarily a “booster” in terms of electrolytes, it sure is tasty, and it’s not overwhelmingly sweet like most store-bought lemonades. My roommate put me on to Country Time a few months ago, and it saves us tons of money that we would’ve spent buying juice — one container can make up to 90 glasses of lemonade!
