These Earth Day Deals Are Good Enough to Keep You Celebrating This Month and Beyond
Contrary to what I thought in my younger years, Earth Day isn’t the Earth’s birthday — it’s an annual event held on April 22 meant to educate us about environmental issues and how we can improve our own efforts to be more eco-conscious. It may not sound as “fun” as a birthday party for the planet, but it’s an important day that began in 1970 as a protest across cities. Now, however, the day has grown to be recognized and celebrated globally by brands, corporations, and those looking to improve their day-to-day habits in an effort to benefit the place we all call home.
One way to get involved and do your part this year for Earth Day is to take inventory of the food you consume and the products you bring into your home. To give you a little headstart on how to do just that, we’ve rounded up a few brands celebrating Earth Day and encouraging sustainability by incentivizing your purchases. Of course, we should be doing our best to take care of our planet every day, but adding a a sweet Earth Day deal to the lineup doesn’t hurt.
Next Level Burger
Next Level Burger is America’s first 100-percent plant-based burger spot, so it’s only right they celebrate all month long. In honor of Earth Month, they’re teaming up with the good folks at Good Catch Foods on a crispy fish burger, with 10 percent of the profits going to the @OceanBlueProject.
Pressed
For Earth Day, plant-forward cold-pressed juice company Pressed is teaming up with Kiss The Ground, an organization that revitalizes soil to restore land function and help counteract the effects of climate change. Stop by any Pressed location and bring in any two plastic bottles to be recycled to receive a complimentary bottle of their Greens 2 juice with a limited-edition “Save the Soil” Earth Month label.
Stewart’s Shops
Have a Stewart’s Shops location near you? You’re in luck because the chain of convenience stores is encouraging you to “go green and save some green” by offering free hot refills on Friday, April 22nd. To help promote sustainability, customers can bring their reusable mugs and receive a refill on their hot coffee. If coffee isn’t your thing, however, don’t fret; the deal is also available on hot tea and chocolate.
Beatnic
Beatnic — the vegan restaurant chain formerly known as By Chloe — has been holding a Love Your Mother Earth challenge all month long where guests who eat four meals in a month get one free. Every person that completes the challenge will also have a tree planted on their behalf through One Tree Planted. The challenge only runs until the end of the month though, so that means you have a little over a week to eat four of their delicious meals to snag that free one.
Starbucks
Who says you can only be environmentally conscious on Earth Day? Starbucks is offering a free reusable cup so you can keep being green even after April 22nd. All you have to do is use PayPal to either load your Starbucks account with $5 or place an order in the same amount, and you’ll receive a coupon for the reusable cup. The promotion runs until 4/30/22, but you have until 5/7/22 to claim your cup.
Just Salad
Just Salad is all about empowering customers to “Eat with Purpose,” and you can tell by their menu. They’re the first U.S. restaurant chain to carbon label its menu by calculating the meal’s carbon footprint and posting it — similar to what other restaurants do for nutrition facts. This Earth Day, they’re encouraging customers to eat sustainably by making all chef-designed salads and bowls purchased in-store in a reusable bowl and all climatarian menu options ordered online (or in the Just Salad mobile app) available for only $8.99.
Green Pan
Keeping the earth at its best isn’t only about what you cook, but also what you cook it in. If you’re looking for a kitchenware brand that focuses on being eco-friendly, take a look at Green Pan. The brand revolutionized home cooking when they introduced healthy ceramic nonstick pans free of PFAS and lead. You can grab yourself some of the brand’s toxin-free cookware for Earth Day during their 40 percent off site-wide sale.
