Dyson’s Newest Version of This Editor-Loved Vacuum Is $100 Off for a Limited Time
Buying a new vacuum cleaner is what I like to call a “light bulb shopping experience.” Not because it’s similar at all to shopping for light bulbs, but because you often don’t realize you want or need to replace your current vacuum until you see how transformational a new one can be. But, once you have that “aha!” light bulb moment, the flaws in your vacuum suddenly become so much clearer, as does the value of a new one that works better and harder.
While we test and review vacuums from dozens of brands, one company we return to time and time again for high-quality machines that maintain their suction and cleaning powers for years and years is Dyson. They’re often on the forefront of vacuum technology, and not for the sake of being high-tech — their devices give us new features that simply make vacuuming easier, and they never let us down. Dyson recently updated one of our editors’ favorite vacuums, and their new model, the Dyson Ball Animal 3 Extra Upright, is on sale in a surprising bundle deal: If you get it at QVC now, you’ll save $100!
When our editor Annmarie reviewed the Dyson Ball Animal 2 almost two years ago, she found it to be the best vacuum she’d ever used. “It sucks up everything in one pass — like dirt, fur, and microscopic allergens, which all get trapped inside to make it certified asthma- and allergy-friendly,” she wrote. As a pet parent to two cats and a dog, she felt relieved to finally have a vacuum that could reliably get fur out of carpets, rugs, sofas, and chairs, as well as clean hardwood and tiled surfaces. With this special discount on Dyson’s new Ball Animal 3 model, they’re including extra tools that make pet hair cleanup even easier, as well as a redesigned vacuum head for better performance overall.
The Dyson Ball Animal 3 is a fantastic all-around vacuum cleaner, whether or not you have messes from pets or kids to clean up. As its name suggests, it uses a ball design that lets you easily swivel and maneuver the device in any direction for more comfortable and ergonomic use. Inside the head is Dyson’s latest Motorbar cleaning brush, which is less bulky than the head on the Ball Animal 2 and just as powerful at capturing dirt and hair. QVC’s bundle also includes a “reach-under tool” that acts as an extra-long arm to suck up dust and crumbs in hard-to-reach places. Normally you would have to pay extra for this piece, but here you basically get it for free.
And, of course, there are the pet attachments. The first one is a small detangling tool that goes over sofas and pulls out deeply-embedded fur and hair without damaging your furniture. It works by rotating two gear-shaped brushes in alternate directions to gently (but effectively) grab onto hair and not let it go. The second attachment is specifically meant for dogs, and depending on your pup’s relationship with vacuums it may take a little getting used to, but it could be a game-changer at preventing so much fur from covering your home in the first place. Essentially, it’s a metal-toothed pet brush that attaches to a hose on the vacuum. You can brush your dog with it just like a regular brush — while keeping the vacuum turned off — then when you’re ready to dispose of the collected fur, turn the vacuum on and it’s instantly sucked inside. Genius, right?
If you’re ready to make cleaning up after your furry pets a whole lot easier and enjoy a vacuum that’s prepared to handle all the dust and dirt you can throw at it, grab this Dyson deal before it sells out. Your fur-covered furniture will thank you.
