Cinco de Mayo is just a few days away and if you plan to spend the day throwing back a few margaritas at your favorite restaurant, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has something special for you.

In collaboration with his ultra-premium small batch tequila brand, Teremana, the actor has brought back the “Guac on The Rock” campaign for the second year, and like last year, this initiative will be supporting local restaurants in a big way.

Guac on The Rock began in 2021, when Johnson celebrated his birthday (which is on May 2) by gifting guacamole to anyone who bought a cocktail made with Teremana at a local restaurant. And this year, The Rock celebrated his 50th birthday, so it’s only right to continue the celebration.

Guacamole is famously extra at many chains, and the expense of adding a scoop to a burrito or taco salad can add up fast. But for one week only, not only will it not be extra, but it’ll be free. Yes, you read that right. Free. Here’s how it works.

Teremana will reimburse restaurant goers for their guac when they purchase the popular side item with any Teremana Tequila cocktail through May 8. To take advantage of your free guacamole, upload an itemized receipt that shows both your guacamole and cocktail to guacontherock.com or by scanning the unique QR code in the restaurant. Teremana will then reimburse $10 per person to their Venmo account. That’s it. It’s really that simple.

The last few years, the restaurant and bar industry has suffered greatly, and this campaign is encouraging people to dine out however they feel most comfortable. That can mean sitting inside a restaurant, enjoying a drink on the outdoor patio, or even ordering takeout or delivery. It’s all about supporting the restaurant and bar industry.

“No better way to celebrate my big birthday this year than with all of us helping our local restaurants and bars as they continue to get back on their feet, all while enjoying Teremana tequila and delicious guacamole,” Johnson said in a press release. “I want to keep encouraging people to get back into their favorite restaurants, bars, and hotels. This is an industry close to all our hearts and one that gives us so much support year-round and now it’s our turn. Let’s go show our support, enjoy some amazing drinks and food and say thank you for all they continue to do. And let everyone know that The Guac is on The Rock!”

If you happened to miss the campaign last year, this is your year to shine. Now, if only The Rock could celebrate a birthday every week.
