Dwayne Johnson’s Massively Epic Breakfast Included 5 PB&J Sandwiches — And My Younger Self Is Seriously Impressed
When someone says breakfast is the most important meal of the day, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson gets it.
In a photo set up in front of a 6 a.m. Hawaiian sunrise, The Jungle Cruise and Moana star gave his more than 300 million followers a quick glimpse into the hearty breakfast he had in store: a heaping bowl of oatmeal with papaya, as well as a full plate packed with sirloin steak, egg whites, and several peanut butter and jelly English muffin halves. To wash it all down, Johnson went for a natural boost with a ZOA energy drink, his latest food-related business venture (outside of those boozy ice creams, that is) that gets its oomph from green tea extract and green coffee.
The reason behind the morning splurge? “Power + energy breakfast before training. Training legs (have mercy) this morning so I need the extra carbs, fats & a little sugar to optimize my workout,” he explained in the caption.
The breathtaking pink and purple sunrise scene isn’t lost on the actor, as he takes a minute to reflect. “Can’t tell you how anchoring and mindful these quiet moments are of island ocean sunrises have been for me. Given me amazing clarity in life, business etc. Mana is powerful,” he continued.
And, in true Rock form, he oozes with encouragement when he tells his followers to enjoy their Sunday as they see fit — even if it includes a very indulgent meal. And don’t think this is his only time doing so. Just two days prior to this massive steak-and-eggs breakfast, he shared a “f–k it” video of another delicious meal: a pair of double cheeseburgers topped with avocado and bacon, a pile of fries, and a bottle of Teremana tequila (also owned by Johnson).
Want to beef up your own morning meal? Try this flat iron steak with a side of butter-basted eggs. Or for a tropical breakfast option, try this mango and papaya salad.
