Whether you consider yourself a true Southern belle (or beau) or not, one person we all know good and well is none other than Dolly Parton. Although the Queen of Nashville’s career spans across multiple generations of music-lovers, Dolly (we’re BFFs now, so we are totally on a first-name basis!) hasn’t felt the need to slow down just yet.

While she has plenty of glowing accolades — including 11 Grammy Awards, 10 Country Music Association Awards, multiple Hall of Fame inductions, and more — Dolly’s impact is felt in more than just the world of music. And one of the main ways she’s doing that is by continuously blessing us with more desserts to fill up on.

After debuting her Strawberry Pretzel Pie ice cream collaboration with the Jeni’s ice cream brand in the spring of 2021 (and announcing the second round of the collaboration earlier this month), Dolly is now onto delivering a much sweeter round of delicacies to fans: a new line of Duncan Hines cake mixes.

Taking the time out of her super-busy schedule to chat with Kitchn’s News & Culture Editor (that’s me, if ya didn’t know!) the Iron Butterfly gave us all the details on the new line of Southern-style mixes, what inspired them, her ideal dinner guests, and so much more.
