Dolly Parton Is Adding New Mixes to Her Duncan Hines Line and She Knows You’re Going to Love Them
In my honest opinion, there’s not anything that Dolly Parton can do wrong. Much similar to how Tom Hanks is regarded as the nicest man in Hollywood, I believe that Dolly is the sweetest lady ever. And, I can bet there are plenty of people who would agree with me. Of course though, with a title as big as that, Dolly has got to have something even sweeter to go along with it and just like last year, she’s serving up a tasty new collaboration with none other than Duncan Hines.
If you’ve been following the Iron Butterfly (or us over here at Kitchn), you probably already know about the Southern Style Coconut-Flavored Cake Mix, Southern Style Banana Pudding-Flavored Cake Mix, Creamy Buttercream Frosting, and the Chocolate Buttercream Frosting that dropped last spring. This time, however, she’s cooked up four new treats that are truly Southern, y’all!
Already making their way to shelves now, the new Dolly x Duncan line features two Famous Brownie Mixes in Caramel Turtle and Fabulously Fudgy varieties ($3.49 each), a Sweet Cornbread Mix ($3.29), and — one of Dolly’s absolute favorites — a Buttermilk Biscuit Mix made with real buttermilk ($3.29). And just like the previous cake mixes, there are alternate recipes on the back of each box that will take things up a notch.
But new mixes isn’t all she’s offering with this limited-edition release. In addition to the four mixes, those who get their hands on the baking kit will also get a collectible Dolly-inspired tea towel, spatula, and recipe cards. A true treat if you ask me.
While the baking kit won’t be out until February 8, we were able to chat with none other than Dolly herself to get all the deets on the new line. She chatted with Kitchn’s News & Culture Editor (that’s me, if ya didn’t know!) on what inspired this new line, what she has coming up for the year, which stove burner she prefers while cooking, the one thing she always has to have in her kitchen, and much more.
You can check out the full interview below and if you happen to be a member of the Duncan Hines Baking community, you can get early pre-sale access to the new kits beginning February 1 on the Duncan Hines website.
