With winter here, why not try a new hobby like baking sourdough? The process takes a few days; it’s a great way to unwind and take a break from screens while working with your hands. The best part? You don’t have to spend a lot of money on supplies — everything you need for this project can be found at Dollar Tree.

Recently @musclemommasourdough, an Instagram creator known for sharing tips about making sourdough, posted a clip of a shopping haul filled with helpful tools from Dollar Tree to help you get started on your bread-baking journey.

The creator pointed out that Dollar Tree sells useful finds like sourdough towels for $1.25. While this particular design is only available in-store, you can buy countless others on the discount retailer’s website. Sourdough towels are helpful for many kitchen tasks, including protecting your starter, covering your dough while it rises, and wrapping loaves once they come out of the oven.

Sourdough fans raced to the comment section of this Dollar Tree shopping haul posted by @musclemommasourdough. One person said, “Thank you!!! I was looking for something for loaves!” While another user mentioned, “Love this! They have some great kitchen stuff.”

Sourdough towels aren’t the only tools you can find at Dollar Tree for your bread-baking hobby. The store also offers large bowls ($1.25) for proofing dough, silicone spatulas ($1.25) for feeding your starter, mesh strainers ($1.25) to cover your drain and prevent dough chunks from getting stuck, and wire racks to cool your bread after it comes out of the oven.

Once you have all the tools you need to start baking, you can spend your weekends getting cozy and making all kinds of sourdough goodies, such as Filipino sourdough pandesals, English muffins, or cinnamon rolls.
