Q: Does the use of a good packaged broth, like Imagine vegetable broth, replace the need for a mirepoix? I've tried to Google this and haven't found an answer.

Editor: Jeanne, I think that it probably really depends on the recipe that you are making. A good mirepoix adds lots of fresh, complex flavors, so I've never skipped using it in a recipe. I would be curious if others have just used a flavorful broth instead though!
