There are many treats that evoke a general sense of nostalgia, but it’s a wonderful world of feelings to take a bite or a sip of something and be whisked away almost by pixie dust to exactly where you were standing when you first dug in. One lick of this whip and you’ll be standing in Disney World’s Aloha Isle looking up at the blue sky beyond the five thatched peaks that adorn the refreshment stand. Souvenir Tiki Bowl? They’ll ask. Pineapple Whip, Vanilla, or Swirl? They’ll continue. Make it a float with pineapple juice? They inquire. “Yes, yes, a million times yes,” you’ll say as you seemingly float eight to 10 inches from the ground as your debit card is swiped through the terminal by three singing birds.

Now this feeling is available at home — and you don’t even have to get It’s a Small World stuck in your head, either. With a refreshing blend of frozen pineapple, frozen mango, pineapple juice, and citrus-forward gin, this boozy take on Dole Whip will have you wishing upon a star that you found the recipe sooner. Blended together until silky-smooth with vanilla ice cream, this treat can be scooped into cocktail glasses or teacups (a nod to the Mad Tea Party ride, of course), or folded into a piping bag for a more consistent flow.

Recipe Notes

Fun presentation: For additional height and to mimic a Dole Whip, transfer the whip into a piping bag and “dole out” or squeeze out as much as you desire into the glasses.
