The Oogie Boogie Bash Is the Disney Halloween Party You Don’t Want to Miss
Halloween has always been a holiday for scaring the pants off of people — with scary movies, gory costumes, and haunted houses — but Disneyland in California has thankfully come up with a new way to celebrate. From September 17 through October 31, you can buy tickets for the Oogie Boogie Bash, a Halloween party inspired by the cult-classic movie The Nightmare Before Christmas. There’s going to be dancing, rides, and food and booze. (Yes, you can openly drink at the Oogie Boogie Bash, which isn’t the norm for Disneyland.)
It sounds awesome, right?
Here’s what you can expect: Carthay Circle, an iconic movie palace and restaurant, will offer festive bites and drinks. The outside of the building will be tangled in Maleficent’s vines and have other Halloween-themed digital enhancements and décor to put people in the Halloween mood.
After you’ve stuffed yourself, you can dance it off at the Descendants–inspired dance party, and then hit up the Oogie Boogie Bash’s “treat trail,” for some more goodies. As you pass by villains along the trail, you’ll get some candy from cauldrons to settle those fears. With your candy in hand, you can then keep the party going by hitting up another fun adventure, like the Villainous! “World of Color” show, Frightfully Fun Parade, or Mickey’s Trick and Treat Show.
The only bummer is you have to wait until September to experience the Halloween magic at Disneyland Adventure Park. Tickets cost $110 to $145 per person (better grab them now!). If you’re looking for a new way to celebrate Halloween this year, this might just be the best way to do it.
