Disney Released an At-Home Dole Whip Recipe and Dairy-Free Fans Will Love It
If there’s one thing that makes standing in Disney lines during the sweltering heat worth it, it’s knowing that once you finish your thrill ride of choice, you can beeline for a Dole Whip. This refreshing soft serve is iconic for the parks, delighting patrons since its debut at Magic Kingdom Park in 1984. So popular is this twist of delish in a cup or cone that it has spurred restaurants around the country to create their own versions (some even getting boozy with it).
Now, however, you don’t have to pack your bags to indulge. To celebrate the theme parks’ National Dole Whip Day on July 21, Disney released an updated DIY Frozen Pineapple Treat recipe (and dairy-free fans will love it). All you need to take your tastebuds to the “happiest place on earth” is 1/2 to 3/4 cup of pineapple juice, two cups of frozen pineapple chunks, and one cup of dairy-free vanilla ice cream. Blend all until smooth (taking care not to over-blend), adding tablespoons of juice to get the right soft-serve consistency. Scoop into bowls and enjoy your own magic (kingdom) moment.
The company also released a “foodie guide” to help you discover other limited-time Dole Whip creations throughout the parks. Consider it a map to some of the most unique new menu items across Disney parks, including the Churro Pineapple Dole Whip at the Aulani resort in Hawaii; the Dole Whip Cupcake, a mini yellow cake filled with Dole Whip mousse at Disney’s Contemporary Resort in the Contempo Café; and the Peach Bellini Float at Swirls on the Water in Disney Springs.
