Later this summer Diet Pepsi will be rolling out a big update to their product. While you might not notice a difference on the shelf, you will once you crack open a can.
The company has decided to swap artificial sweeteners — giving up aspartame in favor of sucralose aka Splenda.
While the FDA has declared aspartame safe, Pepsi believes that keeping it in their drink is ultimately hurting sales.
Will swapping sweeteners make any difference? While the taste isn't reported to be any different, apparently adding Splenda has changed the "mouthfeel" of the beverage. We're betting that will be an adjustment for many loyal Diet Pepsi fans.
