If You’re Obsessed with Meal Prep, You Need This Cookbook
We all know we should be meal prepping, right? Like, you don’t have to be a weightlifter who’s carrying an entire cooler full of grilled chicken breasts or an Instagrammer who just likes photographing well-curated plastic containers on Sunday afternoons in order to benefit from planning your meals ahead.
The hard part, at least for me, is trying to decide what to cook, because you want something that will be as appealing on day four as it is on day one. That’s why we’re so excited that one of Kitchn’s favorite food bloggers, Chungah Rhee of Damn Delicious, is coming out with a cookbook all about meal prep next month — and it looks like a problem-solver.
The cookbook includes 115 make-ahead meals and snacks, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner options. “You’ll find inspiration for protein-packed breakfasts, energy-boosting snacks, and slimmed-down comfort food favorites — none of which sacrifice flavor,” she writes in a post teasing the book’s release. “Who wouldn’t be enticed by a 205-calorie breakfast croissant sandwich or an under-500-calorie Mason jar lasagna?” (She also gave a photographic sneak peek at two of the other recipes included in the book: the colorful sweet potato nourish bowls and a well-seasoned meal prep chicken.)
We’ve been longtime fans of Rhee’s recipes here at Kitchn, and she’s been featured several times in our Delicious Links series. (Her herb chicken with lemon cream sauce has become one of my go-to dinners.) This will be her second cookbook; her first, released in 2016 and also called Damn Delicious, collected 100 of her simple but sophisticated recipes, including some of the ones you’d probably already bookmarked.
Damn Delicious Meal Prep will be available in stores or from your favorite online retailer from February 5. And we’re pretty sure that all 115 of Rhee’s recipes will look fantastic on Instagram — just in case you’re into that sort of thing.
