Dairy Queen’s Latest Release Isn’t a New Blizzard Flavor, but It Sure Does Smell Like One
As temperatures start to fall across the country and many people begin to turn their thoughts to fall decor, Dairy Queen has announced an unexpected way to bring this year’s Fall Blizzard Treat flavors home: a special curation of throw pillows.
The fast-food chain is celebrating the return of its fall menu and the introduction of three new flavors with two separate flights of scented pillows. Yes, that’s right. You can now get comfy with a pillow that smells exactly like your favorite Blizzard treat.
Capturing three flavors as a food-shaped pillow and two square accent pillows, the new release just may be the first of its kind. “Each year, our Fall Blizzard Treat Menu offers the popular flavors of fall, and the new pillow flights bring our fan-favorite treats to life in a fresh way with scents and style,” said Maria Hokanson, executive VP of Marketing at American Dairy Queen Corporation. “Our fans will be inspired to grab a Blizzard Treat, snuggle up and take in the scents of the season with friends and family.”
The first flight of pillows is built around the new Cinnamon Roll Centers Blizzard Treat. The centerpiece of this flight is actually shaped like the titular pastry and smells like as if it’s “fresh out of the oven,” DQ promises. It’s paired with a brown and cream Oreo Hot Cocoa Blizzard Treat-themed and scented pillow and a Very Cherry Chip Blizzard Treat-scented pillow in shades of pink and red.
The second flight is built around a returning flavor — the Pumpkin Pie Blizzard Treat — and it’s shaped like a slice of pie, complete with a dollop of whipped cream. The supporting characters in this collection, however, both represent new additions to DQ’s fall menu: the Snickers Brownie Blizzard Treat and the Reese’s Take 5 Blizzard Treat.
The former accent pillow features images of a brownie floating alongside fall foliage over a cream background, while the latter is complete with miniature Reese’s cups and pretzels on a burnt orange background. The designs on both pillows represent the add-ins included in the limited-time Blizzard Treats.
While DQ’s Fall Blizzard Treats menu is available now at participating locations, the accent pillow collection will only be made available to 350 sweepstakes winners.
