The Best Counter-Height Dining Tables, Starting at $115
I talk about this with my best friend all the time: Counter height tables are supreme. There’s, of course, a time and a place for standard dining tables, but there’s something about them that feels a bit too formal for my liking. When it comes time for dinner, I don’t want to sit and stare romantically across the table into my friends’ — or even my boyfriend’s — eyes (sorry!). Instead, I’d rather have something higher up that’s a bit more casual: a table you can sit or stand at. That’s where a counter-height dining table comes into play.
What Is a Counter Height Dining Table?
Counter-height dining tables sit a bit taller than your average dining table (around 36 inches tall, the same height as a kitchen countertop) and are typically paired with taller seats or even barstools. They mimic a relaxed bar or pub setting, and because they’re taller, they offer more legroom. Before getting one of these taller tables, though, it’s important to measure the size of your dining room and make sure they’re a good fit (you don’t want it to be too big for your space!).
