The 3 Costco Groceries I Use to Make Breakfast Every Single Day
I’ve always had a thing for breakfast. When I was a little kid, I’d grab a bowl filled with (admittedly sugary) cereal. I’d eat and watch the sun creep through the windows to signal the start of a new day. What’s in my bowl has changed significantly, but I still enjoy those early morning moments. In fact, I’ve found the perfect trio to start each and every day — and the best part is, they’re all available in bulk at Costco.
1. Fage 0% Total Greek Yogurt, $5.69 for 48 ounces
Fage’s 0% Greek yogurt is my favorite of all yogurts (and I love yogurt, so that’s saying a lot). It’s rich, creamy, high in probiotics — it contains five probiotics you won’t find in other non-cultured yogurts — and makes for a satisfying base (read on for the remaining layers!). The protein keeps me full for hours and the probiotics keep my stomach happy.
2. Cascadian Farm Organic Antioxidant Berry Blend, $10.69 for 48 ounces
Frozen berries are just as nutritious as fresh berries, because they’re frozen at peak harvest. This mix is organic, which is important when buying berries. You get three pounds in this one bag, which, at this price, is a great buy! I spoon about a cup of the Greek yogurt to a bowl, then top with these berries. They’re not rock hard, but they’re still harder than fresh, which I kind of like.
3. Premium Gold Organic Golden Flaxseed, $8.89 for 4 pounds
On top of my yogurt and berries, I always add a tablespoon or three of ground flaxseed. I particularly like this stuff on yogurt and in oatmeal, but some people enjoy it in smoothies. It’s cold-milled and a wonderful source of omega-3 fatty acids and super high in fiber. This four-pound bag is a steal at $9, but I have good news: You can also find it on Amazon for the same price!
