A few years ago, we priced out how much it would cost to shop for a basic Thanksgiving menu that would serve eight people. We did the math at Costco, Aldi, Whole Foods, and

It’s currently on sale for $90 (down from $105 now through November 21), which works out to $11.25 per person. And doesn’t leave you with a crate of bonus potatoes.

Buy: Schwan’s 8-person Thanksgiving Meal, $90 (was $105)

Here’s what you do get though:

  • 2 Signature Ready-to-Roast Turkey Breasts (2.5 pounds each)
  • Creamy Mashed Potatoes and Gravy (2.5 pounds)
  • Roasted Sweet Potatoes (2 pounds)
  • Petite Brussels Sprouts (24 ounces)
  • Super-Sweet Corn (36 ounces)
  • 3 French Baguettes
  • 9-Inch Traditional Pumpkin Pie
  • 10-Inch Signature Old-Fashioned Apple Pie
  • Classic Vanilla Ice Cream (56 ounces)

The whole kit ships frozen and there’s no thawing required; just heat the dishes from frozen and you’re good to go. (Just allow three to five days for delivery and be sure to check out when they ship, so that you can be home to unpack!)

We haven’t gotten to try it, but there are plenty of happy customers from previous years. Here’s what some reviewers had to say.

“Couldn’t have been happier with this meal, even though it came frozen the food was much fresher tasting than some meals from local grocery store holiday meals!”

“We bought this because we wanted the traditional Thanksgiving meal but did not have the time to spend on preparing the entire meal. This was just the right thing! The meal fed six adults with more than enough leftovers (although we still prepared stuffing and additional mashed potatoes to supplement the ones in the bag). The delivery was quick and it came well packaged. I was worried the food would melt but it came packaged in dry ice and a styrofoam cooler so everything was still completely frozen. The turkey was well seasoned and the instructions were very clear. I would definitely either do this again or recommend it.”

“This was without a doubt the BEST PRE-MADE MEAL we have EVER ordered. There was enough food to feed an army. Everything was extremely fresh and let’s talk taste, everyone including the children loved every bit of the selections. We ate half at Thanksgiving because others were bringing more food, so we decided to only thaw half the order and save the rest for Christmas. Man that was the smartest idea because it was so perfect at Christmas for my family.”

Have you tried this? What’d you think?
