Costco Just Made All Your Dessert Dreams Come True
Nutella is one of the most popular and versatile spreads there is. You can put it on toast or graham crackers, pour it over ice cream, use it as an ingredient in any number of simple and fancy desserts, dip fruit into it, or you can just eat it right out of the jar with a spoon. Now Costco is making it even easier to obtain an extraordinary amount of chocolate-hazelnut spread, because they have their own Kirkland Signature Hazelnut Spread with Cocoa.
A Reddit user going by cliffzig posted a photo of the Kirkland Signature version of Nutella at a local Costco, and appeared to be very excited about the new product on the shelves. Who wouldn’t be excited? From the looks of that photo, Costco is selling two one-kilogram jars — that’s 4.4 pounds total of gooey, spreadable chocolate and hazelnuts — for just $7.99.
I don’t even know what I would do with four-and-a-half pounds of chocolate-hazelnut spread, but for eight dollars, I’m sure I could think of something. I bet I could try this whole list of 20 ways to use up a whole jar of Nutella, and still have enough left over to swirl with a jar of peanut butter and eat with a spoon.
If you’re a brand loyalist, you can get still 33.5 ounces of Nutella’s hazelnut spread for $13.99 from Costco, but at $7.99 the Kirkland variety is considerably less expensive. Costco’s Kirkland products have a well-deserved reputation for quality, and a few of the Redditors who claim to have tried it say it tastes just like the original Nutella, or at least close enough that an unsuspecting person wouldn’t know the difference if you swapped them.
Would you try the Kirkland Signature hazelnut spread, or are you a Nutella purist?
