Costco Now Sells Comically Large Bags of Popcorn
Everybody loves a bucket (or trough) of popcorn at the movies, but with the ticket prices and the comically expensive candy and drinks that go with its price tag, it’s easy to cuddle up with Netflix at home instead. And as per usual, everyone’s favorite 35-year-old wholesale warehouse has stocked a new item that will be sure to activate the movie-watching hermit in all of us.
Costco, home to the latest, greatest, and largest in everything you could need or want in your fridge and pantry, is now selling two-foot-tall bags of popcorn in select stores. The 1.3-pound Popcornopolis’ Nearly Naked popcorn bag seems perfect for setting next to you on the couch (or the floor? This thing is huge!). Popped in coconut oil and only 38 calories per cup, it’s also kosher and gluten-free.
Though they currently only offer the tall bag in Costco locations in San Diego/Bay Area in California, Colorado, and Arizona, Popcornopolis offers a case of two 14-ounce bags for $24.99 on their website. They’re also rolling out a new, sleeker design to their bags, so if you head to Costco, keep a lookout for both.
This, of course, is not the first giant thing that Costco has ever sold. Just last week the grocery store was in the spotlight for selling massive lobster claws. And this past year they’ve also sold huge tubs of mac and cheese and a seven-pound bucket of Nutella. With this track record, we’re sure to see even more absurd and delightful GIANT things in the very near future.
