Sometimes I find true joy in making some of my favorite comfort meals from scratch. Pizza is one of them, and so is macaroni and cheese. But nothing has ever challenged me more than making a really good homemade fried chicken. The recipes I make are very good — like this buttermilk-brined fried chicken sandwich — but sometimes, when I’m craving fried chicken, I enjoy having some kind of crispy chicken item in my freezer for those exact moments. And now, thanks to Costco, I can enjoy a Nashville Style Hot Chicken favorite without having to leave the house.

Now sold at Costco for $7.99 each, this Nashville Hot Chicken meal kit is the perfect thing to have on hand when you want a tasty meal but don’t want to have to go through the challenge of making Nashville hot chicken yourself. The chicken is fully cooked, meaning the kit comes together in a matter of minutes. It has sliced chicken breast with rib meat, packets of seasoned batter breading, and Nashville-style hot sauce.

To put it together, you mix the seasoning and dip the chicken, then you have the option of cooking it in a pan or placing it in the air fryer. The chicken will get golden and crispy in either five or 10 minutes depending on how you decide to cook it, then you heat up the hot sauce and coat the chicken before serving. In 15 minutes, you have crispy Nashville Hot Chicken ready to go.

You can find this kit in the refrigerator section of Costco. However, it is possible to freeze it if you don’t plan on making it right away. Pro tip: Stock up on a few kits and place them in your freezer for later. They easily defrost in the fridge, and then you can have dinner ready to cook without a second thought.

Don’t live near a Costco and crave that spicy, crispy chicken? It might not be as quick as this meal kit, but we promise our Nashville Hot Chicken recipe will satisfy that craving. Don’t forget to serve it with our favorite Southern smashed potato salad!
