People Are Calling Costco’s Newest Bakery Item the “Best Ever”
Green chiles are enjoyed in many forms, from salsas to a variety of Southwestern and Mexican fare. But sometimes, green chiles are at their best when they’re enjoyed in new and unexpected forms, such as a sweet and savory cornbread.
While there are lots of recipes abound for creating cornbread like this at home, enjoying it just got a lot easier. Eagle-eyed social media users have just found a version at everyone’s favorite bulk warehouse: Costco.
Cornbread is one of those delightful baked goods that can be sweet and savory — and Costco’s version seems to be exactly that. The new green chili cornbread is a large loaf of cornbread that has green chiles baked in and is topped with cornmeal. This makes for a nice sweet and spicy combo!
Instagram fans are excited about the new product, and those who’ve already tried it have lots of ideas for how to best enjoy it. “It was pretty sweet but super good warmed with butter,” read one comment. Another fan agreed, saying, “Really really good, a mild green chili taste with a buttery hint of sweet cornbread and corn dust top.”
Whether you’re enjoying this cornbread on its own, toasted and slathered with butter, or paired with some chili, it just might be a must-have item to add to our shopping lists for this fall.
Of course, always call your local Costco to make sure they have it before venturing out! The Kirkland Signature Green Chile Cornbread sells for $6.99 and can be found in the bakery section. Snag it before it’s gone!
