3 Private-Label Brands We Love as Much as Costco’s Kirkland Signature
It’s no secret how much we (and you guys, too!) love us some Kirkland Signature at Costco. (See: Kitchn Editors Reveal Their Favorite Kirkland Signature Products at Costco and The 13 Best Kirkland Signature Products at Costco.) And for good reason — the private label brand is often just as good as name-brand counterparts and almost always at a better price point. But as much as we talk about Costco, there are other retailers with legit private-label brands that also deserve some love.
Here are three of our other favorites!
In the past, we’ve compared Boxed to Costco, but the site’s private-label brand, Prince & Spring, is actually way more hip than anything Kirkland has on offer. Just look at this minimalist design! And it’s not just ho-hum products in pretty packaging. The household products are study and effective, while the grocery offerings are inventive (Fruitmojis!), tasty, and just as good (if not better) than their name brand counterparts.
Some of Our Favorites from Prince & Spring
- Italian Extra Virgin Olive Oil, $10 for 33.8 ounces
- Mountain Trail Mix, $7 for 28 ounces
- Premium Garbage Bags, $14 for 140
Of course Amazon has a private-label brand! And of course it’s amazing. Sadly, the adorably named Wickedly Prime line is fairly limited (just a few-dozen snacks, treats, and ingredients) and we wish there were more products in the line. We can’t get enough of the salted cocoa truffle spread or the delicious hibiscus organic herbal tea. More options get added fairly regularly, so it’s worth keeping an eye out!
Some of Our Favorites from Wickedly Prime
- Salted Cocoa Truffle Spread, $12 for two 13.2-ounce containers
- Coconut Toffee Roasted Cashews, $20 for 15 1.5-ounce packs
- Peanut & Almond Nut Bars, $12 for 12
3. Uniquely J
Uniquely J is a newish brand from Jet that features quality everyday essentials made from quality ingredients. The line spans cleaning products, snacks, beverages, paper and plastic, baby, and pantry. For example, there’s an organic tomato basil pasta sauce, plant-based cleaning products, Fair Trade coffee beans, and BPA-free food storage bags. The low prices are always surprising —and the fact that there’s lots of organic offerings.
Some of Our Favorites from Uniquely J
- Organic Ground Ginger, $4 for two ounces
- Organic Raw Wildflower Honey, $7 for 16 ounces
- Organic Tomato Basil Sauce, $4 for $25 ounces
