Costco has been on quite the run lately with their list of items, and if anyone is here for it, it’s us here at Kitchn. From bringing back some old favorites and introducing a few new soon-to-be-favorite items to their bakery department, fans have been quite impressed with the lineup the warehouse has delivered. While many are still raving over the 24-count confetti cookies and the lemon meringue cheesecake, another seasonal sensation has returned to shelves to put everyone in a frenzy: Costco’s Key Lime Pie.

Only available for a limited time each summer, the key lime pie is a long-awaited hit that customers are happy to see make its return. News of the return of this key lime treat was first reported to the r/Costco Reddit page by user u/Immo406 through a post titled, “Oh man, Key Lime pie is back.” Immo adds, “Get it while it lasts!! It freezes very well,” after which hundreds of shoppers began to flood the comments section with their excitement.

“It’s officially summer!!” one shopper replied, while another added, “This is the last thing I need, but the first thing I want.” The funniest comment by far, however, came from u/LawfulOrange who chimed in, “This is one of the few things I will allow my lactose intolerance to slap me around for.” Now while I haven’t always been the biggest key lime pie fan in the past, with a comment like that, I’m tempted to see what all of the excitement is about.

The Costco Key Lime Pie is offered at a price point of about $16 and features a buttery graham cracker crust, whipped topping, and key lime filling. The pie weighs in at a whopping 4 pounds and 4 ounces, and is large enough to feed 16 people. It’s a pretty massive dessert and apparently the desired summer treat for Costco shoppers. So do yourself a favor and head on over to Costco and see for yourself what all the fuss is about.
