The 10 Best Frozen Dinner Shortcuts to Buy at Costco Right Now
Need to get dinner on the table? Quickly? Costco can help! Of course, we all know about that $4.99 rotisserie chicken and the food-court pizza, but Costco has lots of other dinner shortcuts, too — especially in the freezer section. Head over there and you’ll find all sorts of time-savers that can help you pull together a somewhat-virtuous and very-delicious dinner.
Allow me to get right to it: These are some of my favorite tried-and-true frozen dinner shortcuts to buy at Costco.
1. Pacific Salmon Burgers, $17 for 3 pounds
These salmon burgers go great with some grilled asparagus and a baked potato or baked sweet potato fries (see below). I like to keep these on hand to enjoy on the weekend on the grill or pop them in the oven during the winter (which will be here before you know it!). They always taste incredibly fresh.
2. Tattooed Chef Mexican Street Style Corn, $12 for 3 pounds
I’m not one to usually go wild over frozen corn, but this product by Tattooed Chef really surprised me. It’s full of flavor, thanks to all the seasonings, and the addition of cotija cheese and red bell peppers. I pair this mix with a big green salad and make it a meal for a veggie-rich dinner and plenty of fiber, vitamins, and minerals.
3. Tattooed Chef Organic Riced Cauliflower Stir-Fry, $10 for 3 pounds
Whether you’re low-carb, plant-based, Paleo, or just trying to eat more vegetables, this product fits everybody’s lifestyle. Made of only organic frozen vegetables, this cauliflower rice stir-fry is full of flavor, color, and nutrition! It’s so filling, thanks to the peas and corn, it can be enjoyed for dinner by itself. If you want more protein, pair with some lentils or black beans for a plant-based meal, or enjoy with a side of lean protein of your choice such as chicken or fish if that’s more your thing.
4. Beyond Meat Beyond Burgers, $15 for eight
I turned my family onto these last year when they decided to eat less meat and I’ve heard no complaints. As a nutritionist, I appreciate that these burgers are made with non-GMO verified pea protein instead of GMO soy. And because they taste pretty meaty, they’re a great option for meat-lovers who are trying to eat more plant-based options, but don’t want to sacrifice flavor.
5. PureVida Fire Roasted Vegetable Melange, $14 for 4 pounds
This frozen mix is full of flavor and nutritious vegetables, and it’s one of my favorite new finds at Costco. It includes Brussels sprouts, mushrooms, red onions, red and yellow bell peppers, spices, and a touch of extra-virgin olive oil. I like to pair these with a sweet potato and call it a night.
6. TropicLand Organic Sweet Potato Fries, $10 for 4 pounds
Need a super-quick side dish? These sweet potato fries are a must-try. They are so delicious, not to mention gluten-free and vegan. Made of organic sweet potatoes, these fries can round out a meal. And they’re usually always less than $10.
7. Milton’s Cauliflower Crust Roasted Vegetable Pizza, $12 for two
Sometimes I like to make our pizzas from scratch, but most nights we just heat up one of these. The roasted veggies and cheese make a great combo. I love that my family has no idea they’re eating a crust made of veggies. Make a pizza and add a small side salad for a quick and easy dinner.
8. Garden Lites Veggies Made Great Spinach and Egg White Frittatas, $12 for 20
I’ve been buying these for years: I’ll eat two of these with a side salad or a side of veggies for a quick dinner. You can also eat these for breakfast, a quick lunch, or as a snack. Bonus: You just heat them up in the microwave and don’t have to do any cooking.
9. Dr. Praeger’s Organic California Veggie Burgers, $12 for 12
You can actually taste the vegetables in these (carrots, zucchini, green peas, and spinach). I love them dipped into a little organic ketchup and a baked sweet potato, or sometimes I pair them with some frozen broccoli if I want more veggies.
10. Tattooed Chef Organic Acai Bowls, $12 for six bowls
Do you love breakfast for dinner as much as I do? These organic acai bowls are one of my go-tos when time is of the essence. They come with individual granola packets that are free of the refined sugar that you find in most granolas. Acai is full of antioxidants, fiber, and omega-3s, and the addition of coconut milk, berries, and banana really add a lot of flavor to these.
