Few things are promised in life: death, taxes, and that you can step into a Costco and grab their hot dog and soda combo for $1.50. The popular menu item has remained at the same price since the 1980s and for good reason. Though the brand has their own reason behind why the price doesn’t sway, I personally feel like there’s no need to change a good thing unless you’re going to make it better. And apparently, that’s what one unnamed hero managed to do.

The Forbidden Glizzy is a popular Costco food hack that combines the classic hot dog and the food court’s lesser-known Chicken Bake. The chicken bake is a Costco food court concoction that combines chicken breast strips, mozzarella, provolone, Parmesan, and a creamy Caesar dressing and is housed in pizza dough. It’s almost as if a Hot Pocket got hit by the growth ray from 1992’s Honey I Blew Up the Kid. But according to some Costco fans on social media, it’s the one mashup you actually need to try.

To make the Forbidden Glizzy, you simply have to purchase a hot dog and the chicken bake, and bite the ends of the chicken bake. Then get rid of the hot dog bun and place the hot dog inside the chicken bake. Next, find an empty aisle to hide in where you can enjoy your Forbidden Glizzy away from the judgmental stares of the other customers.

While there are many users who are fans of the mashup, popular content creator @Yucking_ on TikTok noted that the food court combo is “disgusting,” rating it a 1.69 out of 5.

Regardless of the back and forth from social media, there’s no denying that there’s something about the hot dog that lends itself to some interesting viral food hacks like the hot dog burger or this baked potato hot dog mash-up. Truthfully though, I wish there were a Nobel Peace Prize for food because whoever came up with Forbidden Glizzy deserves one.
