Step aside Elf on a Shelf, there’s a new annual holiday tradition that deserves to be at the top of everyone’s lists each December! And, of course, it’s from Costco. In what seems to be a highly-anticipated return, the brand’s well-received Christmas Tuxedo Chocolate Mousse Cake is back — and I, for one, am very excited about it.

Each year Costco-philes like myself anxiously await the return of this gorgeous Christmas confection, stalking the aisles and scouring social media for any mention of the cake. This year, Instagram user @costcobuys got the scoop. Cue Mariah, “It’s tiiiiiime!”

Tuxedo cakes are so named because the alternating layers of vanilla and chocolate make it look like it’s ready for a black-tie affair. Costco’s version, however, takes fancy to the next level. This tuxedo cake is ready for the Met Gala with a double layer of chocolate cake filled with chocolate mousse, white chocolate mousse, and brownie bits. The whole thing is enveloped with decorated chocolate ganache and a “Merry Christmas” message written in red frosting.

Oh, and did I mention that it’s on sale for $14.99 at most Costco locations right now?!

The members-only retailer is known for releasing holiday edition desserts that have dedicated followings — like their massive pecan pies and pumpkin cheesecakes each fall. Their pumpkin pie (also enormous) finds new fans each year and at $5.99, is such a deal that you’ll probably want one all to yourself, like this woman in a recent viral TikTok video

So thank you Costco, for giving me one more thing to look forward to each December. I may eschew the mad dash to the mall to dump hundreds of dollars into our broken capitalist system, but every year I await the return of the Christmas Tuxedo Chocolate Mousse Cake like a kid waiting on Santa.

And no, I’m not sharing. The whole cake is for me.
