Costco Brought Back One of Its Most Beloved Dessert Items and You Need to Try It ASAP

Costco is known for some pretty epic finds. Whether it’s their super-affordable rotisserie chickens or their bulk buys on just about any pantry item we’d ever need, there’s so many reasons why we should all consider locking in a membership. Every so often, the wholesale giant has a new or returning item that gets people really excited, and the latest is prime for being featured at homemade Valentine’s Day brunches.

Social media user @costcobuys, whose Instagram and TikTok accounts focus on Costco finds, has revealed that Costco brought back their famous Chocolate Chip Ricotta just before the holidays and if you haven’t tried it yet, now’s the time.

“Chocolate Chip Ricotta dessert cheese is at Costco! This cheese is versatile and delicious … chocolate ricotta pancakes anyone?!” read the caption in this video, which went on to be liked over 200 times on TikTok. A similar post on Instagram got nearly 4,000 likes.

This ricotta cheese, which sells for $13.89 per pound, is described as a  “creamy dessert cheese with chocolate.” And while I can absolutely see it as cannoli filling to spread on top of various cookies and snacks, I don’t think it should be limited to dessert. So the account’s suggestion of using it as chocolate ricotta pancakes sounds like a brunch win to me.

Not everyone on social media was initially all that excited about this flavor mashup though. “This is peak America — how can they do this to ricotta?” said one Instagram commenter. Shortly after, however, the same commenter retracted their statement, giving the item praise. “I made a huge mistake — this is a cannoli and it’s delicious,” they said.
