We’re guessing, since you clicked on this article, that you love (or at least like!) the egg bites at Starbucks. And why shouldn’t you? They’re a protein-packed, on-the-go breakfast option. More specifically, they’re eggy bites that are cooked sous vide (in a low-temperature water bath) until they’re velvety smooth and then studded with bacon and cheese or vegetables. They’re delicious! They’re convenient! They’re a whopping $4.45 for two!

If you want to spend less on breakfast, you could make your own egg bites from scratch, or you could just go to Costco.

See, the internet started freaking out this morning when people realized that select Costco locations carry a very similar product. Meet: Cheese & Uncured Bacon Egg Bites by Three Bridges, which come in a pack of eight for a little less than $10 (for those who don’t want to do math, that’s less than $1.25 each).

According to our friends over at Foodbeast, the Starbucks version and the Costco version taste pretty similarly, with equal fluffiness. The store-bought ones have a stronger cheese flavor, but the folks at Foodbeast chalk it up to the fact that the two use different cheeses: Three Bridges’ bites have cheddar instead of Gruyère. You obviously don’t need a sous vide machine in order to make the Costco version, either — you just need a microwave and 60 seconds.

Unfortunately, the Three Bridges egg bites are only available at Costco stores in the Bay Area, Sacramento, and Reno, Nevada. The company is hoping to get its product into more West Coast stores by the end of year, but reps didn’t say anything about the rest of the country.
