If You Buy One Thing at Costco This Summer, Make It This Bargain Find
I love grocery shopping from the comfort of an armchair, without ever leaving the house. That’s why I hit yes on a trial grocery delivery service in 2016. But I miss the occasional “inspired” shopping that can only happen when I wander the aisles of a grocery store in person.
Every once in a while, I make it to Costco to see what special items are on display. I recently made a trip and came across an exciting discovery that definitely made leaving the house worth it.
Going to Costco with an open mind can be dangerous for sure, but I’m proud to say that I came back with only three things: a bottle of rosé for our upcoming HOA ladies’ night, a set of forever stamps (prices are going up!), and a beautiful plant — in an adorable planter — to put in our kitchen. Yes, you read that right. Instead of hitting the garden store this summer, you’ll want to head straight to Costco for your green-thumb needs!
The best part? The gorgeous new plant (in a cute footed pot) that I brought home with me was only $19.99 — much less than what I’d expect to pay for the planter alone!
Costco’s plant selections are usually spot-on, and they certainly didn’t disappoint this summer. I felt like a kid in a candy store as I picked out a plant from the shelves that were loaded with fun options. I landed on a gorgeous leafy number that was labeled as “modern foliage” and is unknown to me. I did a little research and talked to a plant expert who informed me this is a Philodendron ‘Birkin’.
Well, this ‘Birkin’ is a cheerful little addition to my kitchen. It always astounds me how much life one small plant can add to a space. In my kitchen that’s all hard, glossy surfaces, I especially love the effect. It’s the best thing I’ve picked up for my kitchen in a long time, and it just might be yours too.
