Chocolate chip cookies are a classic dessert that are welcome year-round. You don't need an excuse to bake a batch, like a holiday get-together, because you know that your friends will eat them literally anytime. But what if — and hear me out here — you didn't have to bake cookies? I just discovered that Costco sells a three-pound chocolate cookie cake and, guys, this is epic.
Costco's "Colossal Cookie" is just a giant chocolate chip cookie which you can cut into slices and serve like a cake and, honestly, it's kind of ingenious. Making cookies, while not the most labor-intensive form of baking out there, still takes a fair bit of effort. What if you could just have one big cookie that your friends could cut into themselves? Costco continues to make it quite literally effortless to feed the people you love. Amazing.
Now, I am not saying that we give up baking altogether. Nothing could truly replace made-from-scratch cookies. I'm just saying that right about now, there are probably at least five people demanding that you bake something for all the different Friendsgiving parties you've been invited to, and wouldn't it be great to just bring Costco's giant cookie to one of those parties? All you have to do is heat it up and serve. Can't you just feel the stress melt away? That's suddenly one less thing you have to think about.
When it comes to oversized, delicious-looking desserts, Costco has really been outdoing itself lately: Remember that five-pound pumpkin spice cheesecake? Yeah, I'm still daydreaming about it. Do not feel bad if you are out of baking energy this year. Costco's dessert options are good enough that your family and friends won't even care if it's not baked by hand.
