If you’re a deal-seeking shopper, Costco is the store for you. The warehouse’s oversized offerings are usually less expensive than the prices of smaller packages at the local grocery store. Some of Costco’s budget buys are well-known, like the $1.50 hot dog combo, while others require closer cost comparison

Quick Overview

1800 Silver Tequila Is Perfect for Summer Cocktails

Sparkling bottles of spirits don’t come cheap at the local liquor store. If your Costco has a liquor store, buy a bottle of 1800 Silver Tequila for sipping and summer cocktails.

It can be scary to buy in bulk, but Costco stocks its shelves with a curated collection of name-brand and private-label products with a proven track record. One bulk buy that I always have on hand in the summer comes from an often-overlooked section of the store — the liquor store.

Of all the bottles to buy from Costco, 1800 Silver Tequila is the best spirit to grab during the hottest months of the year. It can be expensive to curate a well-stocked home bar, so I make sure to buy this tequila at Costco.

What’s So Great About 1800 Silver Tequila?

There’s no substitute for sipping a chilled tequila cocktail on a summer evening. My pick, 1800 Silver Tequila, is great because of its versatility. It’s smooth enough to serve on the rocks with a squeeze of lime, and plays nicely with citrus juices and sodas in mixed drinks and cocktails.

1800 Silver Tequila is made from 100% Weber blue agave. The distilled liquor is not aged, so its color is crystal clear and flavor is citrusy and a bit peppery. This brand is not exclusive to Costco, but at the warehouse you can buy a large bottle at a fraction of the price: It costs $39.99 for a 1.75-liter bottle at Costco, while at my local liquor store the same size bottle goes for almost $10 more.

What’s the Best Way to Serve 1800 Silver Tequila?

Pour this tequila over ice and slowly sip, or to add a splash to a bottle of Topo Chico for ranch water. There are also many ways to serve this tequila as a cocktail. Margaritas, of course, come to mind — mix a pitcher of classic margaritas on the rocks, or blend a frozen margarita. Try a spicy margarita with jalapeños, or one that is pure summertime, like this watermelon margarita. If you like grapefruit, go for a Paloma. I mix up a big batch of the base, then top off with grapefruit-flavored Jarritos just before serving.
