We gulp down a lot of water this time of year, and we’re always looking for new ways to jazz things up. Lately, we’ve been having fun with fruit juice ice cubes. They look pretty in the glass and give our water a refreshing burst of fruit flavor. Have you ever tried this?

This would never have occurred to us until we had that rhubarb juice a few weeks ago. A splash of that in a glass of water was amazingly good and refreshing. It was just a small leap to turn the juice into ice cubes, and then an even smaller leap to start playing with other fruit juices like fresh squeezed oranges and over-ripe raspberries.

Besides water, we like having some of these fruit cubes on hand for chilling cocktails, adding to batches of sangria, and flavoring plain fizzy water. Crunching down on one also makes a pretty refreshing afternoon treat!
