Cook's Resource: Jessica's Biscuit

We've already told you about our addiction to cookbooks. If you share our predilection, we're about to introduce you to a very dangerous drug.

Jessica's Biscuit is an online store offering over 14,000 cookbook titles, all at a discount. Since they specialize only in cookbooks, they often have those hard-to-find titles, and browsing too often yields books you didn't know you needed until you saw them.

We often find ourselves justifying a large purchase from Jessica's Biscuit by the cost savings. It's true that also often has discounts, but we find Jessica's Biscuit's prices are usually better. For example, Jill O' Conner's book, Sticky, Chewy, Messy, Gooey: Desserts for a Serious Sweet Tooth which we told you about last fall, has a list price of $22.95. It's $15.61 at Amazon, but only $13.77 at Jessica's Biscuit.

On top of that, when you order more than $40, they give you your choice of a free gift - a half-pound of coffee, a t-shirt, or a free cookbook from a select list. AND they frequently run a special promotion where an order of $50 or more also lands you a year's subscription to Bon Appetit, Gourmet, or other mags.

See how hard this temptation is to resist?
