Become a Chocolate Intern and Get a Year’s Worth of Candy
Attention all college students looking for an internship: This might be the best gig we’ve ever seen. Mars Wrigley, the creator of Twix, 3 Musketeers, Juicy Fruit gum, and a whole host of other treats is offering what they call the “World’s Sweetest Internship 2019” this summer.
The Chicago-based internship is 8-12 weeks and fully paid (hallelujah!) and Mars says it comes with a signing bonus of “one year’s worth of candy.” Whatever that actually means, it sounds fantastic.
So what does the job entail? The job description is actually really lengthy and there are a lot of responsibilities, including organizing and attending events around the Chicago area and beyond to solidify Mars Wrigley as a pillar of the Chicago community, learning about every part of the business from department heads so that the intern gets a complete idea of Mars Wrigley’s business model, working within the social media sphere to advance community engagement, and obviously, candy testing, tasting, and making.
So if you think you’re going to get to sit around eating chocolate all day… well, you might be, but while you’re actually working on things. There might be a few days when you are coming up with a new flavor of gum or trying the selection of candies that they sell solely in Japan, but this is an actual job — an awesome one, but a job nonetheless.
Candidates are required to be at least 21 years of age as of May 20, 2019 “but possess the mindset of a kid in a candy store,” according to Mars Wrigley, and are preferred to have journalism or content development experience (although it’s not required). Mars Wrigley also says strong writing and communication skills across a range of technical audiences, good organizational skills, and knowledge of digital photo, video editing, and social media experience should be enough for someone like you to apply. So apply!
Doesn’t a year’s worth of Milky Ways sound fantastic?
