Dipping things in chocolate — be it pretzels, graham crackers, or even butter crackers — has long been one of my go-to “recipes” for classroom parties. For Valentine’s Day, my dipped item of choice is a pink-hued, strawberry-flavored wafer cookie, and a quick browse through Pinterest proves I’m not alone in this habit.

Dipping strawberry wafer cookies in melted white chocolate and adding festive sprinkles is guaranteed to delight anyone and everyone. It doesn’t hurt that they’re also one of the easiest and cheapest Valentine’s Day treats you can make for a crowd.

3 Tips For the Best Chocolate Dipped Wafers

1. Melt the chocolate first. Wait to even open your package of wafer cookies until your chocolate is melted and slightly cooled. The cookies stale quickly uncovered, and dipping them into piping hot chocolate will soften them even more.

2. Give the dipped cookies time to set. Let the chocolate dipped wafers set for at least 30 minutes before transferring them to an airtight container. Serve them within two days of making them.

3. Experiment with different flavor combinations. Though strawberry and white chocolate is our favorite combo (especially for Valentine’s Day), you can mix-and-match any flavor of wafer cookies and chocolate you like.
