Here’s How to Get Free Guac Tomorrow at Chipotle
National Avocado Day is like millennial Christmas. This year it lands on Tuesday, July 31, and Chipotle restaurants around the U.S. will be celebrating by giving away free sides of guacamole with any entree. That’s right — for one magical day at Chipotle, guac will not be extra.
According to Chipotle, to get the free side of guacamole or free guacamole added to your order as a topping, you’ll need to place the order for your entree online through the Chipotle website, or with the Chipotle app, and enter the code AVOCADO at checkout. I know, the last thing you probably need right now is another app on your phone, but you guys — this is free guac.
“Our fresh, homemade guacamole has a massive fan following,” says Chris Brandt, chief marketing officer at Chipotle, in a press release. “We want to show our love for the avocado and reward our customers’ guac obsession. Plus, it’s a major bonus that you can skip the line when you order ahead with our app or at chipotle.com.”
The offer is limited to one free item per customer, and unfortunately you cannot get free guacamole with orders placed in person in the restaurant. But if you show up at the restaurant having forgotten to place your order, you can usually download the app right there and place the order without bothering to get in line.
After you add the entree to your order, you can add guacamole as either an add-on, a side dish, or as a separate order of chips and guac. Then put in the code AVOCADO and watch the upcharge disappear. Go ahead, treat yourself — National Avocado Day only comes once a year.
